# ltx-talk: Accessible presentations with ox-beamer

LaTeX' Beamer is one of several ways how users can turn Org files into presentations, and
Org's Beamer export has been used by lecturers to create slides for university course
content. Recent policy changes in the United States and the European Union request that
course materials be delivered as tagged, accessible PDFs. LaTeX Beamer is not compatible
with these requirements, but ltx-talk, a modern LuaLaTeX package based on Beamer can
produce fully tagged PDFs.
We describe the process that brought ltx-talk export support to Org mode. We then show
some of the features of the export backend and ltx-talk, and the current limitations.
Because ltx-talk is relatively new and under development itself, we conclude with a call
for help to further improve Org's support of accessible PDFs on ox-beamer (and, why not,
ox-latex) and ensure future compatibility and feature completeness.
About the speaker:
Pedro A. Aranda (he), currently maintaining ox-latex and ox-beamer in
Org mode. I came from LaTeX + Emacs to Org mode and have been using ox-beamer
and ox-latex for a long time and wanted to give back. After some patches, and
a lo of patience to get better font configuration for LuaLaTeX, I felt
I could go ahead and take care of them. I'm in the process of switching to
ltx-talk for my presentations using ox-beamer.
